Rating: 3.5/5.0The second installment in the Seven Cities Saga. I thought this will be a continuation of the first story, but it is not. The characters are different than the first book, however, reading the first book which is much shorter gives you a better idea of what is going on in that world.
I liked the characters here too especially the main protagonist Matt. The first few pages give you a precise description of him and what he is going through. Like the first book, everything is on point here too. The author did not waste pages to create the world or describe unnecessary things. Everything is balanced out nicely. I did not like it as much as I liked the first book but still, it is very enjoyable. So if you want a fast-paced zombie apocalypse then don't hesitate to pick this up.

Fall of the Seven Cities Seven Cities Saga Book 2 edition by Jay Brenham Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Excerpted from the story, do you want to read more? Well I did, but as I have yet to start the main work, who can say.
Full of action, fast paced, good snapshots of characters, quirky tidbits that shock and provoke, and endings that make you want the next beginning.
Good balance of action and character development. I enjoyed that the main character wasn't some S.W.A.T. team member with 100 guns - he's a regular guy in a tough spot. Length seemed good too, especially for this price.
What would a zombie story be without the loss of characters you are invested in? This is a wonderfully written story that I didn't want to end.
I loved this little novella. The writing is clean and quick, making the pages fly. I really liked Matt, the main character, and couldn't quit reading until the end so I could see how things would end. The preview in the back of the book for book three hooked me in and made me buy the next in the series and start it immediately. Well done!
Typically I do not care for zombie stories, however the writing for this story is very good with links to the other "books" in the series that are natural but also subtle enough that you do not need to read the others to enjoy the stories. I wouldn't mind reading more from this author.
It was great until the juggalo got killed and the cop infected. The inconsistency on behavior of the infected is easy enough to overlook but with the cast of characters it was an odd couple, putting differences aside zombie story that could have made it endearing and lasting, but instead we got cliche single dude down on his luck meets a woman.
